Six New Fall Plates to Share at Vidrio on Glenwood South

Last week we got to have a sneak peek at the new FALL menu at Vidrio on Glenwood Avenue. Vidrio is a gorgeous restaurant and bar with several dining spaces upstairs that are perfect for special events. Their food is Mediterranean style shared plates, and features simple cooking methods like a wood fired grill and stone hearth and always fresh seasonal ingredients.
Vidrio is an open window into the Mediterranean. Sharing plates both large and small are made with the freshest ingredients allowing the flavor to shine. Handcrafted seasonal cocktails with exotic spirits are exciting and delightful. The vibrant, modern environment is visually mesmerizing and filled with warm, personal hospitality. These touches speak to the patience, creative vision and hard work of Lou Moshakos and his attention to detail to bring this ode to the Mediterranean to Raleigh. Gather at the table with us, where we encourage you to savor every sip, every bite, every moment together.
Doug Frates is one of the leaders in the glass-blowing art industry and is the creator of the awe-inspiring
and vibrant glass wall at Vidrio.
The focal point of the 13,500-square-foot space is a stunning dining room wall that features 350 glass bowls and orbs. The eye-catching creation covers the two-story wall in a kaleidoscope of colors, and “A moment for the time being” is painted underneath, inviting guests to forget their worries and savor the present. Vidrio means “glass” in Spanish, and they wanted something spectacular to reflect that theme. Doug Frates, the artist behind the glass masterpiece, used silica from Italy to craft the vibrant orbs, which are designed to inspire visions of Mediterranean sunrises or sunsets over crystal-blue waters.
UPCOMING EVENT THIS WEEK
Vidrio is hosting a wine dinner featuring Bedrock Wine Co. on Thursday, November 8th, at 6:30pm at hosted by Vidrio and Taylor’s Wine Shop.
