10 Spring Trends to Keep Your Style Fresh and Youthful

Spring weather is in full swing here in Raleigh and I've gathered up 10 fun and trendy ways to help freshen up your warm weather wardrobe. Feeling youthful and having fun is always a good accessory to any outfit. Here are some things I selected that you can incorporate into your current wardrobe that will add some instant fun and style.

01. Full-on Fringe! Fringe is trending big for Spring and Summer. It's definitely a throw back to the hippie 70's but when done tastefully, it's a really fun way to add a little hip youthfulness to any wardrobe. Neutral tones and suede pair well with almost any outfit like these cute shoes and bag I spotted in Ivy & Leo at Cameron Village Raleigh.

02. Bold Colors. Another way to freshen up any outfit is to go bold. Orange is a popular color for Spring 2016 and this cute tote can be found at Kannon's Clothing in many bright cheery colors including lime and lemon tones.

03. Statement Jewelry. Big chunky gold vintage earrings is a very popular look and can dress up an outfit for a special event or simply be worn with casual jeans and a tee. I found these gorgeous earrings at Antiques Emporium from Rhinestone Byrd.

04. Tie-Dye. Yes, tie-dye is making it's way back into the Spring trends after making appearances at Spring 2016 NYC Fashion week and these adorable PIKO shirts and tie-dye dresses are stylish for any age. The tie-dye shirt is chic and comfortable and complements any age and size with its flowy style. In addition to tie-dye, the V-neck is the newest style of PIKO and both are available at Ivy & Leo.

05. Florals and Patterns. You can't go wrong with this stunning dress that is perfect for Spring occasions such as baby or bridal showers, a dinner date or brunch! This gorgeous dress is part of the Women's Spring Pendleton line available for a limited time at Pendleton Cameron Village.

06. Lounge wear. Super soft fabric is trending now in comfort or leisure wear. This nightshirt is not only pretty and feminine but super comfortable too. Visit J. Alane's Fine Lingerie to find this and
plenty of other comfortable fine lounge wear.

07. Black and White (and halter necklines). In my opinion you can never go wrong with black and white. This stunning formal gown available at Kannon's Women Clothing is the perfect dress for prom, formal or wedding. The halter style neckline is trending this Spring and Summer and the slimming fit and beautiful bold floral pattern provides a fresh Spring look for any special occasion.

I had to include this classic gold clutch and black vintage style handbag! They both went so beautifully with this black and white formal gown.

08. Go Boho Chic. The Bohemian look is a relaxed style with a hippie vintage appeal and can sometimes be hard to pull off but with just the right pieces, it is a comfortable and fun way to update your wardrobe. FifĂ's Fine Resale Apparel of Cameron Village has lots of dresses, bags, shoes and accessories to help add a little Boho flair to your look.

09. Support local. Shopping local is always trendy. By shopping local you put your money back into your own community. Buying locally made items from locally owned businesses will leave you feeling good about your purchase decision. This adorable tassel necklace has been very popular and is locally made and available at Kannon's Women's Clothing Store.

10. Treat yourself!  Life can get pretty busy and stressful, especially this time of year with all the end of school year and college events, so take a moment to do something spontaneous and fun for yourself or surprise your kid or a friend. Stop by Rise Biscuits & Donuts and check out their May Specialty donuts. This one is the Fruity Pebbles with Fruit Punch icing. It's vintage, it's cool and the easiest (and most delicious) way to stay on trend!

I'm excited to partner with Cameron Village over the next few months to feature some of the great merchants in the Village and highlight some 2016 Spring Trends and great "hidden gems". I love shopping local and it's been an amazing opportunity to get to know these merchants, their stories and their passion for what they do!

Thanks also to NC Photographer Glory Rose for assisting with photography.
