I'm thrilled to be taking part in Instagram Travel Thursday, a new weekly feature set up by several fabulous bloggers, sharing their favorite trips captured on Instagram. We LOVE to travel and discover new places, so I look forward to sharing several with you on a weekly basis!
This week I'm featuring some pictures live from the road! We currently have been traveling this week through the better part of Western North Carolina and currently are spending a day in Blacksburg, VA and on to Fayetteville, WV. Today since I'm on the road, I decided to highlight a couple photos from some fantastic new spots in Asheville.
We traveled to Asheville via the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was stunning. This area has received a huge amount of record breaking rain so everything was green and lush and the waterfalls were amazing.
I recently blogged about Asheville, NC having been there back in April. This time we tried to visit some fabulous new spots, one of them being Ben's Tune-Up. Fabulous new spot with great food and drink and lots of atmosphere!
Right next door a brand new brewery, Hi-Wire has set up shop. Definitely worth a stop in.
Early Girl Eatery is not new to Asheville, but I had heard so many great things we missed it last time so we were happy to eat an amazing breakfast there this time around. Fabulous!
Another great Asheville stop that we missed last time was a stop by French Broad Chocolate Lounge. It is a laid back, relaxed spot for coffee, chocolate and lots of other tasty treats. I had a delicious iced coffee.
Another new spot for lunch or dinner is Farm Burger.
Of course, when in Asheville, we had to return to a couple old favorites. One of them definitely being Wicked Weed Brewery. Can't say enough about this place, just make sure you do not miss it when in Asheville!
Along with Wicked Weed, you have to put Tupelo Honey Cafe on your list for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This place is packed with a line almost anytime of the day but its well worth the wait and they usually get you in pretty quickly. SO good!
We stopped in at the Grove Park Inn for a little sight-seeing and we decided we will be back here to stay the next visit to Asheville. The place is amazing.
Brand new literally this week is a new restaurant at the Grove Park Inn called Edison, serving North Carolina craft ales, southern style food and hand-crafted cocktails. The place was spectacular with inside and outside relaxed seating and wonderful views overlooking the resort and the mountains. The place was inspired by the days of Thomas Edison who traveled to this area to vacation often with other famous folks such as Henry Ford and the Firestones.
I am still on the road so I will keep this short for today! Hope you are making plans to visit somewhere fantastic soon. Happy Travels!
