Summertime, and the living's easy...NOT!

I actually thought that once school was out, the days would be long and lazy and we'd start to enjoy a simpler, slower pace for a while.  Not so!!  Between swim team meets, practices, traveling, my work schedule, balancing clients and kid camps,  summer has been about as busy as the school schedule we were so anxious to break away from! 

Now, it's August and I'm determined to slow it down and make plans to explore some new things we've been wanting to try. Even though we've been busy, we have recently enjoyed some great food around Raleigh in some new and old locations. 

Here are a few recent food favorites:

Sola Coffee

Sola Coffee Cafe - relatively new and making a big splash in North Raleigh! The food and coffee is always delicious. Just recently I cooled off with the Sola Shake. A delicious combination of expresso, ice cream (!), and some honey. Signature sandwiches are always great and they continue to impress with their involvement in the community and local efforts. They've also done a great job with Social Media to get their name out there. http://solacoffee.com/mission/

Gonza Tacos y Tequila

Gonza Tacos y Tequila - Located in the same shopping center as Sola, this mexican restaurant is amazing. When we went, the line was out the door! It's definitely in high demand but it didn't take very long for us to get seated outside. The steak tacos are fabulous (I am a big fan of the steak tacos at Dos Taquitos as well, and these were just as good.) http://www.gonzatacosytequila.com/contact.htm

Bella Monica - Located off of Edwards Mill,in the Olde Raleigh Village shopping center,  has been around for a long time and I was amazed at the business they were doing on a Monday night!! Great food, great service and the place was buzzing with activity. They also do Gluten-free which is of more interest to me these days...We will be back. http://www.bellamonica.com/restaurant.html

Beasley's Chicken and Honey

Beasleys - Beasley's is fast becoming one of our family favorites for restaurants. The kids love it and the food is always good. Fun people watching, inside and out. Its a treat for the kids to share an order of chicken and waffles and an icy cold soda in a bottle. There's always a new side dish or main to try out.
